OVERVIEW OF THE MODULE

Welcome to module: Marketing in practice; which aims at equipping students with knowledge, skills and values of marketing concepts in order to satisfy consumer’s needs and wants and be competitive in the current market environment. Marketing plays an important role not only at global level but also at national level, firm’s level and entrepreneurs or individual businesses. Marketing major goals is to satisfy customer’s needs and wants so that customers become loyal to the product or brand or company, as a result more sales and more profits to the seller.

Organizations need skilled marketers to interact with customers in such a way that customer become satisfied with product or service offered to them and at the same time the organisation is also making profit. It is for this reason that this course is offered to introduce you to various marketing concepts, terms and application situations which by the end of this module, you should be able to explain with minimal or no difficulties.

The module contains objectives, main body, summary, and activities which you need to pay attention to. Activities are at the end of each unit and you need to do each activity when you finish reading each unit. Also take note of the note symbols.


The Module Overview The module overview gives you a general introduction to the module. Information contained in the module overview will help you as a student to determine what you expect from the course and how much time you will need to invest to complete Principles of Economics. Principles of Economics is broken down into eleven (11) units. The 11 units are divided into two sections ‘A’ and ‘B’. Section ‘A’ (units 1 - 5) deals with Microeconomics and Section ‘B’ (units 6 - 11) looks at Macroeconomics, Each unit comprises of:  An introduction to the unit content,  Unit learning outcomes  Core content of the unit,  A unit summary  Reflection Questions and Activity.
